We all go through tough times…

You may be struggling financially, hurt over a relationship, mourning the loss of a loved one, suffering from health issues, etc.

It’s hard enough going through life’s struggles, and when we do, we find that we beat ourselves up mentally and emotionally.

We find ourselves feeling depressed, lacking the self-confidence we should have, doubting ourselves and not giving ourselves enough credit.

All you want to do is find a world to escape to and forget about your troubles.

And for some of us, the escape can be in the form of food, drugs or alcohol. For those who find themselves going this route, I do hope that you recognize what you are doing and seek professional help. At the end of the day, when the effects wear off, your problems are still there.

I’m so thankful that I never turned to any of those three vices, and instead, let out all my troubles, sorrows, stress, frustrations and worries in the gym. And because of it, over the years, the gym has literally become my sanctuary.

It’s kind of how I got my start and transformed not just physically.  My transformation was an inside out transformation.

There are other things I do to help “get my mind right” to keep me on track and not wallow in misery.  I remember when I first discovered the movie The Secret back in 2006.  That movie had a profound impact on me.  To this day, when I find myself not focused on what I want, or feeling down, I find that watching The Secret is key.

There is also what’s going on in your subconscious mind that controls your moods, habits and behaviour.  And for that, I find listening to self-hypnosis recordings before I go to bed help are very helpful.  There’s all sorts of hypnosis recordings for just about any issue you have and highly recommend you check it out.

How fitness saved my life….

When I first discovered the iron, I remember how strong, powerful and in control it made me feel in contrast to how I felt about my life.  I also remember how much better I felt not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.

I had better focus and clarity and because of that, my mindset became more positive. I was able to think outside the box and was more receptive to ideas and opportunities that helped turned things around for me that I might have missed.

Fitness is also a habit. To be successful at it, requires focus and commitment. The habit, focus, and commitment of fitness crossed over to my life outside the gym. It has become part of my character and a personal code I live by.

It has enabled me to create and produce products and services that would help, inspire and influence others in a way I never expected. It gave me the courage to believe in myself.  It taught me that I can achieve anything I put my mind to through the power of habit, focus and commitment.

Like everyone else, I still have my ups and downs.  You’re going to.  It’s part of life and it’s part of how we evolve.  The one constant in my life is making sure that I hit the gym and allow my mind to clear.

With a healthy, strong body, combined with self hypnosis to clear the subconscious mind of negativity and roadblocks, and watching The Secret to keep my conscious mind staying positive and being more self-aware, I find that I am able to take on the curve balls that life tends to throw our way in a more healthy, holistic, manner.
