Muscle up with iron
If you’re not happy with the shape of your body, it could be that you’re not getting enough iron. The kind of iron I’m talking about is not dietary iron. The iron I’m talking about is the kind you lift.
For some reason, as we get older, we tend to shy away from strength training and if we do, we tend to shy away from lifting heavier weights. Provided you don’t have any injuries or joint, ligament or tissue pain, if you’re male or female, hit the weights, hit ‘em hard and heavy.
Natural anti-aging regiment
As we get older, we lose muscle…. and with muscle loss, our bodies lose the shape we once had in our younger years and we tend to become flabbier.
To counteract this, as I’ve gotten older, I have found myself lifting heavier weights with less reps, instead of lifting lighter weights and increasing the rep range, ie., (light weight high rep training).
I love lifting heavy and the way it makes my body look and feel while preserving any lost muscle mass that comes with the aging process. I also love the fact that I am stronger in my late 40’s than I was in my 20’s and 30’s.
Strength training is part of my natural anti-aging regiment. If you want to look younger, feel better and have more energy, you should be strength training at least twice a week.
Strength training not only builds and maintains muscle, but it gives your body shape, burns fat and calories even at rest. As we age, our skin loses elasticity, becomes loose and begins to wrinkle.
Having a lean, healthy, muscular body will help keep your skin tight and looking younger. No anti-wrinkle cream or pill can do that.
